Selected work

From the enclosure to the dashboard.

Three areas, one workflow: I design and print the hardware, build the software around it, and wire it all together with Node-RED and Home Assistant.

CAD & Rapid Prototyping

I design prototypes and 3D models for hardware in Fusion 360, then print them to check the physical design before anything goes to production.

What I do

  • Prototypes and 3D models for hardware, designed in Fusion 360.
  • 3D printing for rapid prototyping and validating the physical design.
  • PCB design, so the board and its enclosure are designed together.
  • AutoCAD, 3ds Max and SketchUp for drawings, visualisation and layout.

Full-Stack & Linux Infrastructure

I build the software side of IoT end to end: backends, web front ends, databases and container deployments, running on Linux systems that I administer myself.

Python · JS · C++Full-stack in production
DockerConfigure, maintain, deploy
LinuxUbuntu · Raspbian

What I do

  • Backend and front-end development in Python, JavaScript, C/C++ and HTML.
  • Scalable web applications with Django and Flask; 3D on the web with Three.js.
  • Configuring, maintaining and deploying Docker containers efficiently.
  • Administering and tuning Linux systems (Ubuntu, Raspbian and others).
  • Querying, analysing and debugging data with SQL and DBeaver; testing REST APIs with Postman.

03 · The breadboard

Home Automation & Node-RED

Microcontrollers, sensors and relays tied together with Node-RED and Home Assistant. I integrate the hardware and the software, from the sensor bus up to the dashboard.

A typical flow

What I do

  • Full hardware and software integration of embedded devices.
  • IoT automation and integration with Node-RED and Home Assistant.
  • Sensor networks and device communication over field and wireless protocols.
  • Edge development: processing data on the device, close to where it is produced.
