I build the whole thing: hardware, firmware and cloud.

I'm Arturo, an industrial electronics engineer from Spain, based in Madrid and specialised in IoT and embedded systems. I design the enclosure, lay out the PCB, program the device, and build the backend and web app that make its data useful.

How I work

Follow one reading, from the sensor to the cloud.

Most IoT projects are split between a hardware team and a software team. I work across the whole chain. Scroll to follow a single measurement on its way.

01 · Hardware

It starts with a sensor.

A sensor on a board I designed measures the room. The reading leaves it as a few bytes on the I²C bus, along copper traces I routed myself.

02 · Firmware & network

Firmware at the edge.

A microcontroller running my C++ firmware checks the value, packs it and decides whether it’s worth sending. Then it goes out over Wi-Fi as an MQTT message.

03 · Infrastructure

Into the homelab.

Mosquitto receives the message. Node-RED and Home Assistant react to it (switch a relay, raise an alert) and a SQL database keeps the history. It all runs in Docker, on Linux machines I look after.

04 · Software

Up to the cloud.

Finally a Django backend and a web front end turn the data into something people can use. Hardware, firmware, network, backend and front end: I build every layer.
